An all-in-one system

You can install the EasyGate software yourself on your own hardware, but one can also acquire a complete system through a Neuberger & Hughes / NLcom dealer. The advantage of an all-in-one system is that you will receive support on the whole system and you can start off immediately.

Installation on a "regular Intel-PC platform"

The EasyGate software can be installed easily on a “regular” Intel-based PC or server. To attach the server to a DSL connection, it must be equipped with 2 Network Interface Cards. For an ISDN connection it must contain at least an ISDN device and a NIC. When the faxserver software on the EasyGate will be used, a Sedlbauer ISDN Fax card must be installed.

Recommended hardware

The recommended hardware is to a large degree dependent on the projected usage of the system. (Will the EasyGate be used as a fileserver? How much teleworkers? How much Workgroup users?). An EasyGate VPN Gateway on a platform with eg. a 500 Mhz Intel processor, 64 MB, 10 GB is more than enough for a very large network. An EasyGate Professional with 100 IMAP mailboxes and a large amount of teleworkers should preferably be equipped with a larger harddisk and more memory.

Example configurations

1. EasyGate Professional version or less for a network with 10-30 users (EasyGate will be used as a router/firewall/proxy/mail/web/VPN)
Min. 500 Mhz, 64 MB, 10 GB. When a large amount of IMAP mail storage is expected, one can opt for a larger harddisk.

2. EasyGate Workgroup or BILL Workgroup for a network with 10-30 users (Router/Firewall/Proxy/Mail/Web/VPN + BILL server) Min. 1,7 Ghz, 512 MB, 20 GB. The higher hardware requirements are mainly caused by BILL. The BILL server consists of a.o. a SQL database with a large amount of data like address books, calendars, notes, etc.
